About Us

Premier Volleyball Academy (PVA) was founded in 2020 by Jan Carino, St. Joseph’s Catholic School Varsity Head Volleyball Coach. PVA was started to offer a club option for those girls wanting to continue to play after their school seasons ended so that they could continue to improve their skills and be more prepared for the upcoming school season.

PVA is designed to be a bit different than other clubs. Its goal is to make available an option for those volleyball players who love the game and want an opportunity to play without having to travel long distances for tournaments and who also want to finish club season before summer to allow for a break between club season and school season. PVA is designed to also make it possible for players to pursue playing another school sport while still playing volleyball at the club level if they so desire.

PVA is a member of the Palmetto Volleyball Association, a region of USA Volleyball.

Jan Carino, Program Director

Jan Carino has served as St. Joseph’s Catholic School Head Varsity Volleyball Coach in Greenville South Carolina for the past 28 years. She has led the team to 12 State Championship victories between 2011-2019, and between 2021-2023. She has also coached in Michigan, Indiana and Minnesota and has experience as a club coach at Axis for over 4 years. Coach Jan’s goal as a coach is to develop a love for the game in each player by making practices fun while still implementing hard work for skill improvement.
